Be You! Discover the Value of Being You • Monday PM, 60 min
Recommended grade levels: K-5
During the session “Discover the Value of Being You” you will use FableVision Learning’s “Start with A Story Program” and use Be You by Peter H Reynolds to discover a joyful reminder of the ways that every child is unique and special. After reading the story, you will have the opportunity to participate in a series of activities including journaling and animating. "Start with A Story" is a classroom series that ties the works of New York Times best-selling author/illustrator Peter H. Reynolds, founder of FableVision, to hands-on and technology-based activities/projects for SEL, journaling, storytelling, team-building, as well as engineering and animation. Please bring your own internet-connected device to participate in the fun, but not required.

Resilience & Creativity in the Classroom • Tuesday AM, 45 minutes
Recommended grade levels: 4-8 grade
FableVision Learning has collaborated with Partnerships in Education and Resilience (PEAR) to create a unique program that combines the joy and inspiration of Peter H. Reynolds’ picture books with research-backed social-emotional learning targets. During this workshop, Sara Smith will introduce our highly regarded new programming that allows teachers and students to explore meaning and establish a strong sense of belonging in the classroom while discussing stories, playing games, and engaging in activities meant to build rapport and trust. Participants will be given the opportunity to pilot this 14-lesson program in return for providing feedback for further development.

Fostering the Next Generation of Leaders • Tuesday PM, 60 minutes

Join FableVision Learning’s Deanna Braunlin as we set sail with the North Star Classroom where students explore their strengths and leadership skills, learn resilience, and discover their power to create. This approach is based on best-selling author Peter H. Reynolds’s book The North Star and includes best practices for setting up learning spaces that establish a positive, creative climate. Learn how schools and programs are using elements of the North Star Classroom to inspire student growth, student voice, and encourage creative problem-solving.
