NSEA is thrilled to offer members an invitation for our upcoming series of conferences, each designed to enrich and empower educators in their professional journey. Join us for a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and thrive together. Here's a glimpse of what's in store:

February 24th: The Education Imperative

March 23rd: Uniting Generations
   Theme: NSEA Educator Development Conference

These conferences promise to be enlightening, providing valuable insights and strategies to enhance your teaching practices. It's an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow educators, share experiences, and gain a fresh perspective on the challenges and opportunities in education.

Lodging for registered NSEA member participants who live more than 60 miles from the official conference host site will be reimbursed 50% of the room price at the official conference hotel. Members are responsible for making their own hotel reservations.

Mileage for registered NSEA member participants will be reimbursed for round trip mileage from the participant’s home address to the conference site and return trip at the IRS rate. The mileage reimbursement is only to the participants who drive to the conference. If you ride with someone, you are not eligible to receive a mileage reimbursement. Participants are encouraged to share rides if possible.

February 24, Lincoln: The Education Imperative with Dr. Donna Beegle

The Education Imperative: Addressing Poverty and Fostering Opportunity

Dr. Beegle serves as president of Communication Across Barriers, a consulting firm dedicated to building poverty-informed communities that are armed with tools to break barriers. Dr. Beegle works with students in poverty, as well as all professionals who want to make a difference for those living in the crisis of poverty. For over 30 years, Dr. Beegle’s work has spread word of mouth to all 50 states and six countries. Dr. Beegle is also the founder of the Opportunity Community/ Opportunity College Model which provides the foundation for a contemporary war on poverty. Dr. Beegle knows first hand that education is the ticket out of poverty. She is honored to work and ensure all educators are poverty informed and aligning with students to remove poverty barriers to education success.

March 9, Gretna: Thriving Together with Paul Reynolds

A Creative Family Experience with Paul Reynolds

Paul is an award-winning children’s book author - creating stories about creativity and innovation. His story book about the 4Cs entitled Going Places is illustrated by his twin brother Peter H. Reynolds, and recently won the Library of Congress MassBook Award for Best Picture Book of the Year. Paul has also been teaching creative media production and digital storytelling at Boston College for over 20 years. He also oversees Reynolds Center for Teaching, Learning & Creativity - Reynolds TLC - a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering purposeful, creative human potential around the globe.

March 23, Kearney: Uniting Generations with Gerry Brooks

Gerry Brooks

Gerry Brooks has been an educator for 25 years, beginning as a third-grade teacher in Palm Bay, FL. He earned his master’s in administration and has been an elementary principal for 12 years.

Originally using humorous videos to encourage his staff, Gerry has become a national encourager for teachers through social media and speaking events.

He is a voice for teachers, but his passion is leading others to be responsible for their own personal climate and culture in the workplace. His book, “Go See the Principal,” outlines strategies for taking on this responsibility.

Gerry and his wife, Kelly, have 3 adult children and live in Lexington, KY.
