Note: The courses listed below are available to NSEA members at no-cost.  These on-demand courses are self-paced learning with 365-day access. Once you enroll, you will receive an email from NSEA confirming your sign up. Within 72 hours, you will be enrolled in the course(s) and receive an email from NSEA’s Learn Upon portal to begin your course work.  The first time you are enrolled in a course, you will need to finish your registration process in the NSEA Learn Upon portal (a link will be sent).  You may need to check your spam filter to find the email from NSEA Learn Upon. Poverty Immersion

Welcome to Be the Difference:An Action Approach to Educating Students in Poverty. This series was developed by the Delaware State Education Association, the Kentucky Education Association, the Nebraska State Education Association, and the South Dakota Education Association in conjunction with Dr. Donna Beegle and Communication Across Barriers. This 8 module course studies the impact of poverty on our students and explores ways educators can mitigate the impact of poverty within their classrooms.

Classroom Management

In this course, learners will learn about what students need, reinforcement vs bribery, intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation, the ABC’s of behavior, and functions of behavior. Learners will also focus on adult behaviors that can escalate a situation, responding to inappropriate behaviors, steps to avoid power struggles, consequence strategies, classroom management strategies for younger students, classroom management strategies for older students, and explore real life scenarios.

Education Support Professionals: Supporting Our Own Through Peer Mentoring

The National Education Association recognizes the vital role Education Support Professionals (ESPs) play in ensuring a great public school for every student. That's why we're working with members and affiliates to build and support ESP peer mentoring programs. Through peer mentoring, ESPs can receive the specialized, targeted workplace preparation and support that empower ESPs in the workplace, advance their professional excellence, and build the education systems that all our students and members deserve.
