DonorsChoose Offers Resources to Teachers

If you’re one of the many teachers who use their own money for school supplies, DonorsChoose may just be the solution to your problem!

The nonprofit DonorsChoose connects teachers in need of classroom resources with donors who want to help.

Full-time classroom teachers at public schools who spend more than 75 percent of each workday with students may submit a project. Other public school full-timers, like nurses and guidance counselors are also eligible.

Visit DonorsChoose and select “Get started” to create an account. Once you’ve signed up, log in and submit a project. Create a project by selecting a vendor to start shopping and choose the items you need. Once a project has been created, you’ll be asked to describe your project and how it will benefit students.

Volunteers will review the and post the project. Then, donors can visit the site and choose to help fund the project. If your project is funded, DonorsChoose orders and ships materials.
